Now that the sun is coming out longer each day, and the days are getting warmer, we can all look back at a job well done. The thousands of kilometres we’ve walked together are evidence that Northerners are ambitious and concerned about healthy living - and motivated to stay that way! Thank you for participating in the 2022 Walking Challenge.

What makes this event possible? How are we able to offer such incredible prizes for simply staying healthy through those long winter months? The success of the NWTRPA Walking Challenge is due in large part to the generous contributions of some very special Sponsors. We would like to take a few minutes to express our gratitude.

NWT & Nunavut Lotteries has been an annual source of support for the NWT Recreation and Parks Association and the Walking Challenge.  This program would not have become so successful without their help!

Did you or one of your teammates take home one of our awesome prizes?

Canadian Tire Yellowknife provided great prizes like a fat bike and kayak.  Canadian Tire also ships across the NWT, for all your outdoor gear needs!

All NWT residents who successfully completed the Walking Challenge in 2022 were entered to win a canvas tent from Airdrie Canvas, an excellent reward for the dedication needed to stay active during the dark winter months of the Walking Challenge.

Thanks to Northwestel, the Walking Challenge is able to deliver many prizes across the NWT, including local fur parka trim for 3 lucky teams!

Sponsoring the Walking Challenge not only gives participants that sweet chance to win prizes, it also gives us the ability to get the word out to YOU the participants and captains, it allows us to collect stories and relay them back to you, and most importantly to motivate the NWT to get active and stay healthy throughout the winter. Thank you to White Ice and Lawson Lundell LLP for supporting this initiative.

Great weekly prizes were provided from our friends at the Mackenzie Recreation Association, Aboriginal Sports Circle of the NWT and Sport North.  Thank you for your contributions!

On behalf of the NWTRPA and 2022 Walking Challenge participants, THANK YOU, SPONSORS!

Your contributions are essential to the success of the 2022 Walking Challenge. If you’re a 2022 Walking Challenge participant, supporting these northern businesses is a great way to encourage future giving.
